Fierce Fashion Philanthropy!
In the summer of 2006, Lou-Torres Gardner lost her cousin, Eddie Payan, to AIDS. Despite all the resources and medication available in the United States, he died at the young age of 33. Lou discovered Keep a Child Alive when we were featured on the Tyra Banks Show, when KCA Global Ambassador Alicia Keys introduced our documentary film, Alicia in Africa: Journey to the Motherland. The film opens a window into the lives of the people in Africa affected by the AIDS pandemic, and shares the stories of children and families who continue to live today with access to anti-retroviral treatment and care. The story struck a chord with Lou, and she decided to organize a fundraiser for Keep a Child Alive, in her cousin Eddie’s honor.Just Brown presents Fierce Fashion Philanthropy - an amazing fashion, music and dance event to be held at the Thomas H.
